Accommodation

During your FDVC (Fiji Dive Volunteer [Marine] Conservation) program you stay in a fabulous variety of accommodation and experience the hospitality and lifestyle of the Hidden Paradise of Savusavu and the Coral Coast. Your main base is Savusavu a sleepy little town in the north west which offers you a rare glimpse of how Fiji used to be 60 years ago. During your program you are hosted by Fijian families in a Fijian village, stay at a guest house and in self-catering accommodation and finish off at a quality backpacker resort on the Coral Coast. The beach is always close by and you are well placed to enjoy the slower pace of Fiji as you relax with friends and swim in the warm, blue sea. As a backpacker in Fiji, you will be very comfortable.

Hidden Paradise Guest House, Savusavu

Run by the very friendly “Aunty” Elenoa and her helpful staff, the guesthouse dorm rooms are air conditioned or fan breeze-cooled with shared kitchen, bathroom and cold-water showers. It is located directly opposite Wai Tui Marina, making for an easy stroll to start your day of diving. Shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets as well as Planters Club are also just a short walk away.

Waivunia Village Homestay, Savusavu

You are welcomed by Pulu and Lele, into their home and into their hearts. To make your stay as comfortable as possible, Pulu and Lele have thought of everything. After a tiring day of diving, you have the choice to relax on one of the comfy couches in the large living room or out on the verandah watching village life go by, or to curl up on your bed, under the mosquito net for a short nap. You experience true Fijian hospitality from their extended family as well as the whole Fijian village.

Self Catering by the Sea, Savusavu

You will stay in self catering accommodation, either at Daku Resort or the Hot Springs Hotel, both of which are situated very close to Savusavu town. You will feel immediately at home when you settle into one of the dorm bedrooms or sit outside looking at the spectacular sunset. Here you cater for yourself but still have the luxury of being in a resort setting, with a pool, spectacular views over the bay and beaches close by.

Imagine relaxing with your friends on the large deck overlooking the swimming pool chillling out under the sun or the magnificant star filled night sky. What a great meeting place for those on their gap year adventure in Fiji.

Beach House Resort, Coral Coast

The resort is situated within an eight hectare coconut plantation, with acres of beautiful tropical gardens and lawn for you to relax in. You spend your days 100% beach front, with a fantastic white sandy beach just a few metres in front of the swimming pool and communal area so you can chill out, take on some sun or go for a swim. The dorm rooms and facilities have been architecturally designed and have a genuine Fiji island atmosphere. Staff are happy to hang out with you and there are lots of daily activities to keep you occupied if you don’t feel like lazing on the beach.

Qamea Island (Surf accommodation for Dive Surf Combo)

You will stay at a small, ecologically friendly Fiji island resort with its own private beach that looks and feels like your own tropical paradise. Your accommodation is in the Treetop dorm which is a short step away to the sandy beach and glistening sea. There are plenty of opportunities to chill out in a hammock, snorkel in the warm water , walk through the jungle nestled behind the resort or meet with your new friends in the Sand Bar.
