Even as a small child Kathy had a great love for Fiji and always imagined that one day she might like to live there. After working in Australia in banks, major airlines and as a retail travel consultant, she made the decision to take the plunge and try something different. Fiji is a dream come true for Kathy and has offered her the experience of a lifetime in being able to immerse herself in a different culture that is so far removed from where she grew up. Her travel background has given Kathy great insights into what travelers expect when they arrive at their destination and she enjoys meeting people from all over the world every day.
Kathy holds an Open Water Diver Certification and loves exploring all that that Fiji has to offer like snorkeling, sailing, swimming and fishing. She is found most days in the dive office ensuring that all is running smoothly behind the scenes so that your diving experiences are some of the most memorable times of your life. When you step off the dive boat Kathy is waiting to hear about your fun day.
Isei, who was born on the island of Vanua Levu and raised in the village, always had a great love of the sea - above and below. When he left school he became involved in the dive industry and worked his way up from an Open Water Diver while working for different companies in the west of the Fiji. His desire to return to his birthplace with his qualifications resulted in the idea of starting his own dive operation in Savusavu.
Isei has been an instructor for more than 13 years and enjoys meeting people from all walks of life and sharing his knowledge. He loves watching someone take the plunge for the first time and walk away a confident diver with a greater appreciation of all that lies below the ocean.
Tuks comes from the friendly little town of Rakiraki in the west of Fiji. He has been employed as a divemaster for several years in Savusavu and prior to this he worked at Musket Cove for Sunsurface Fiji and the resort. Tuks really enjoys playing rugby and meeting new people from around the world. One of the best parts of Tuks job is that he gets to hang out with all his new friends and makes sure that they enjoy their holiday by introducing them to the Fijian way of life.
Vil has been employed by RDU since its commencement in 2005. He is an Advanced Open Water Diver but his main role is Boat Captain as he knows the waters extremely well as he is a local lad from Urata Village. He is a exceptional rugby player who can also be found on the volleyball court. He loves meeting people and welcoming them with his infectious smile.
Johnny is a Fiji Islander who was born in Suva, the capital city of Fiji. The sea was always a big part of Johnny’s daily life growing up, and at some stage he decided to be a marine biologist. He has a degree in biology and chemistry from the University of the South Pacific, and a postgraduate degree from the James Cook University in Townsville, Australia.
Johnny’s goal is to help you better understand how nature works, the ecological processes that are fundamental to all systems. He is dedicated to sharing the wonders and value of nature with anyone who has an open mind about nature. With this understanding, Johnny is passionate for you to explore how we can live more sustainably and gently on our only home planet – EARTH!
